WELCOME TO ROOM 9

Term 1 – Week 2

We have started off the year with 5 fantastic students, 1 boy and 4 girls. We welcome Mikayla who has just turned 5 and Aroha who have joined our class. We also welcome Dylan, Blake, and Sia who will all be starting school on Monday.
With such a small class the students are getting a great start to their education.

We are learning about the life cycle of the butterfly. We have watched 2 monarch butterfly caterpillars eat their way through our swan plant and they are now in the chrysalis stage. We are wondering how long they will take to turn into butterflies.
We have been reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and made our own big caterpillar for the classroom.

The students have settled in well and are all ready to learn. We are learning our school expectations and working on RESPECT.

On Fridays we work with our buddy class. We enjoyed making caterpillars this week. We also have developmental on Fridays with Room 8. This week we had water experimentation, woodwork, chalk drawing, sandpit activities and some PE gear out. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!
